Amblyopia In Your Child s Eye And Its Natural Prevention Methods
Understand, Diagnose and Treat Amblyopia Early For Child s Healthy Vision
Having a supreme sensory power is one of the prime requirements of the human body, and at the same time, eye-vision is also an integral part. Though the eyes provide services throughout the life of a human being, they lose their vision eventually.
The trouble of losing eye vision is a common one, and now, it has even engulfed the children whose eyes are new to the world. One such condition in the eyes of the children is known as Amblyopia when one eye of the child has an impaired vision as compared to the other one.
As a result of this trouble, the brain of the child would start disregarding the images that come through the affected eye. It also becomes worse as the child reaches a greater age if he or she does not receive proper treatment.
Amblyopia could also lead to permanent loss of the eye vision in the affected eye, and therefore you need to diagnose and treat it early when the first symptoms appear.
Causes of Amblyopia:
The most probable cause of Amblyopia is the better focus of an eye in comparison to the other one. It could be due to the reason that the eye of the child could have more nearsightedness or a lot of astigmatism than the other one.
Amblyopia is also caused when the eyes of human beings get to view a blurry and clear image together. As a result of this, the human brain deciphers the clear image, while completely ignoring the blurred one. As this process goes on for a couple of months, an eye could lose its vision.
Change in the alignment of the eyes is yet another condition when the human brain starts ignoring one of the images viewed, resulting in loss of vision from the eye.
Diagnosing Amblyopia:
When you visit a pediatrician or an eye-specialist with your child, he or she may look at three factors while there is a problem regarding the eye-vision:
•The eyes of the child let light pass all the way through
•Both the eyes have equal vision and
•The eyeballs are moving simultaneously
If any of the three areas indicate eye trouble, it could be due to Amblyopia and need to be dealt rather strictly with medications.
Treating Amblyopia:
Amblyopia would generally not need medication or surgery when the case is detected early, and the symptoms are mild ones. The doctor could recommend using a patch on the ‘good eye’ so that most of the images that the brain receives are from the bad one.
As the ‘bad eye’ tries to focus on the objects, the brain would be forced to decipher images that it receives, and in turn, the troubles with the eyes too would get better. After a point of time, the brain would start focusing on the images received from both the eyes.
Another solution to this is, putting eye-drops in the good eye which blurs their image, thus forcing the brain to receive images from the affected eye.
In severe cases, the eyes may require surgical and medical treatments for better effects.
For preventing these, you could start regular usage of some natural juices such as Carrot or Beetroot Juice. These are full of antioxidant Vitamin A that is required for good eye-vision. Other Natural juices such as Wheatgrass Juice could also serve the purpose well.
If your child shows symptoms of Amblyopia, we advise to take strict measures early and treat this, rather than ignoring and inviting probable surgeries.
